I am now 67 years old and running a small language institute here in Ansan city, Kyunggido, South Korea. During Vietnam War I had worked as a MACV civilian service man. As a noncombatant I used to fly by chopper or chinook from LZ to LZ. I still remember everything vividly with those wonderful experiences; which made me enjoy enough my abundant life value. First of all, I'd like to appreciated to those who died in action. From Vietnam war archive I even see their roster. These days it is my routine to seek on internet Vietnam War web site. I am very anxious to participate in your meeting. But I expect your email letters. Really wonderful web site. God bless you all my American Vets. Thank you very much.

Tremendous site --you guys were the bravest of the brave --those of us on the ground will never forget you . I used Stingers , Mad Dogs , Hornets , Gun Slingers and I remember lift ships as Greyhound , Top Tiger , Spartans and Crusaders while in Cambodia . I went to French Foreign Legion Museum in Aubange in '98 . They were still very fascinated about their old AO's - esp. The Plain of Reeds (Plane de Jonc ). Also ran into the last Viets retiring from the Legion, and 2 Cambodians , and 2 Laotians . My tranlator that day was a Bombay , Indian who had a brother living in Atlanta , but due to his crime he could divulge any other info . My latest book is Black Tigers - a pictorial history of the Vietnamese Rangers and their advisors . It has now sold out of two printings . Will be happy to talk to your group as I was the U.S.Army's only Airborne Ranger historian for 17 years , and was also Cdr. of 317th Military History Det. one of 12 in the Army . I look forward to seeing some of you soon . I can be contacted at (770) 888-9844 . Best to you and thanks for such a great site !!!

As a non-pilot, I want to wish you all a great reunion on the 22d. I just found your web site, and as always, I recall you guys as the real pros whom we all owe so much to. You certainly saved the skin of many of my grunts and I --and I will always thank, honor and love the guys of VN Army Aviation 1962-1975. Your 52d Avn (H-21's) out of "old" Pleiku flew my 20th Vn Ranger Bn out of Kontum in '62-'63. We found and evaced Lt Ed Cribbs near Mang Buk when his Mohawk went down in Mar '63. Then a Mohawk saved us at Vic Klum (w of Plateau Gi) in Apr '63, but we lost Msgt Rube A Freeman of Columbus, GA--one of the finest men who ever lived (and I have a paper I wrote on him, in addition to his Silver Star citation.) Then in '66-'67, you great guys of the 173d Robin Hoods flew us--2-28th Inf, 1st Div, out of Lai Khe. In 1970, you hauled my 1-14th Inf, 4th Div, all over II Corps. I have sent Gen Pat Brady's "When I have Your Wounded" all over the world. In short, I wish I could be a fly on the wall on the 22d--and just eyeball you great guys. You know, I have LT Mike Skaggs, The Merrymen tape--talk about cool--they were it. Have a beer for me--I'll sure have one for you--and those who didn't come back. I write a lot, help individual veterans who get scammed, help the poor, present the flag to many widows at funeral, push "Stolen Valor," the B. G. Burkett book of 1998 that socks it to the phonies of the VN War. God bless, have a ball, and thanks for all you did for so many. You're the best I've ever seen--and "Uncle Sam" is really a "chopper pilot!" "Clear, untied!" Gen Jack Quinn BG, US Army, ret 904 273-4412

Yesterday I met a young lady who has recently begun seeing a soldier stationed at Hunter Army Airfield. Her soldier was deployed last week. I told the young lady that what her soldier was doing was so much more important than the war I was in, Vietnam, and she replied, “I don't know too much about Vietnam, but I do think we learned a lot about the importance of supporting our military from that time.” The greatness of our nation just continues to grow, doesn’t it? I knew a VN chopper pilot named Steve Reed, who passed away in November, 2000. He was one of the greatest people I have ever known. My thanks to Mr. Garlock for his articles regarding the presidential candidate. I lived thru Viet Nam without being able to do much but watch the boxes come home to Love Field in Dallas, and to write letters to vets. It was a sad time. My thanks to all veterans everywhere, in every time, that have served this nation!

Terry: Interesting piece in today's AJC. Not very honest of you to disguise a paid Republican advertisement as an op/ed piece. And don't for a minute think that most of your fellow veterans agree with you on Kerry's actions. I'll stack Kerry throwing his medals over the fence against Bush renting a flight suit and lying about his "mission complete" banner any day of the week.

After looking at your picture album at Crestview on March 29th I recognized you and some of the others in it From HAL-3. I will send a picture via e-mail if I can figure how to get it to you so you will see what I looked like at 19 years old.

My father; Richard A. Dubey was with the 269th CAB (Black Barons) in Cu Chi Vietnam 1967-1968. He was stationed at the 269th HQ and was a Helo Crew Chief. Some may remember him as the guy with the spider monkey named "Bitch". My dad is alive and doing well, now retired. I would greatly appreciate any stories or photos that he may be in. If the name rings a bell but you can't remember the face you can see photos of him at my website www.rdubey.com
Thanks for everything guys, then and now. "AIM HIGH !"

I want to thank you and the association for honoring my brother, Pat at your Feb. meeting. You will never know how much it meant to me and my family after all of these years. Pat was a year older than me and was the typical older brother. I can tell you that all he wanted was to serve his country and fly that helicopter. Once again, I want to thank you

Greetings from the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress. I cam across your web site while browsing veterans groups in the Atlanta area. Our Project was established by a unanimous vote of the US Congress in 2000 to collect and preserve the stories of veterans of World War I, World War II, and the Korean, Vietnam, and Persian Gulf Wars. To date, the collection numbers over 5,000 submissions and we are proud to claim over 575 partner organizations across the country that have mobilized volunteers to record the stories of veterans and civilians who served in support of the war effort. Some partners have chosen to keep the audio or videotapes in local archives, and others send them to the Library of Congress for inclusion in our collection here. In eitehr case, all participating veterans are honored by their listing in the National Registry of Service, which is available on the VHP web site. I am writing to invite your organization to become an official partner of the Veterans History Project and to assist us by collecting veterans' stories from your members and others in the Atlanta area! Please visit our web site for information on our project, and I hope you will consider joining us in this important national initiative. www.loc.gov/vets

I was Kingsman-35 while with B-Company, 101st Avn. Bn., 101st ABN DIV, from 04/01/70 - 11/15/70, and was with 5th Trans Bn (Direct Support) from 11/15/70 - 04/01/71. Recently received a reunion packet for the reunion of `The Kingsmen` (B-Company, 101st Avn. Bn.), which is being held in California, land of fruits & nutz. Coincidentally, the Ops NCOIC of The Kingsmen was in the same position at the 5th U.S. Army Flight Detachment (Randolph AFB, TX), when I arrived back in CONUS, for my post-RVN assignment. Talk about a small world. ( I was a dual-rated, Instrument Flight Examiner, and Test Pilot, so the duty at 5th USA Flt. Det. was excellent with the U-21F/G's, U-8F's, U-8D&G's, T-42's, and UH-1H's, that were used to fly the VIP's from the Quadrangle at Ft. Sam Houston & Brooke Medical Center. I came to Atlanta in 1973 to fly for Delta. Unfortunately, I was in the class which was delayed twice, and eventually cancelled, due to the Arab oil crisis of the fall of '73. So, my fondness for our Arab brethren has been an on-going soap opera of events that has catastrophically changed my life and lifestyle, since 1973! P.S. I also served on the `Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Businessmen's Association` (A V V B A) Board of Directors for 10+ years, and as the Secretary on the Board of Directors for the "Atlanta Veterans Day Parade Association," the largest sanctioned Veterans Day Parade in the nation(by the Dept. of Defense), for two years. I served with the 269th Combat Aviation Battalion and the 116th AHC in Viet Nam in 69-70 as an enlisted man. While in Vegas this past weekend, I spoke to some members of VHPA and they mentioned that there was a way for me to be invloved in the organization by a pilot sponsoring an enlisted man. I would like more information on the organization. Thank you, Dan Merrill

Mailing Address & information: (Terrence Dale Jorgensen, Sr., 2002 North Woods Drive, Marietta, GA 30066-0112, H: 770-928-4948, Fax: 770-928-9696, Email: Nurnberg62@aol.com) YES, I'm a military brat, having graduated from Nurnberg American H.S. in Germany.
